My linux setup

Here is an incomplete list of softwares and setups on my laptops, which I try to keep track of.
Terms connected by & mean that they are utilised on different laptops. Terms connected by + mean that they are used together on one (or both) laptop(s).
- Linux distributions: Xubuntu 24.04 & Fedora 41 (i3 spin).
- Shell: fish & zsh.
- Having said that, my scripts are always written in Bash.
- Terminal: xfce4-terminal & kitty.
- Window manager: i3 + i3status + picom.
- File manager: Thunar + yazi.
- Symlink/dotfile manager: GNU Stow.
- LaTeX distribution: TeX Live.
- LaTeX editor: Vim 9.1 + VimTeX + UltiSnips.
- I have learnt quite much from the excellent blogs written by Gilles Castel. It is a great regret that I can never convey my gratitude to him directly.
- Web browser: Firefox + Vimium + Dark Reader.
- Email client: Alpine.
- Since the webmail of Leiden University runs on Outlook, I have to find a client that supports OAuth 2.0. Somehow, Alpine is the simplest one.
- PDF viewer: zathura.
- Also for djvu, ps and cb.
- Media player: mpv.
- The mpv contained in Fedora’s default repo is not complete, due to the non-freeness of certain codecs. A solution is to install mpv from RPMFusion.
- Synchronisation: Syncthing.
- Agenda: Taskwarrior + VimWiki + Taskwiki.
